Girls In Leadership -Not in session at this time - Check back for updates

Gorrie teachers, PTA, and Frameworks have partnered to create a new initiative about “Girls Empowerment.” Our goal: To help our 3rd through 5th grade girls feel more empowered and confident; learn how to show kindness and empathy; and cope with disappointments, anxiety, and bullying. Frameworks provided the curriculum and our school and PTA will provide fun and valuable activities for the girls at each meeting.

PTA funds this club and participation is at no cost. The dates and times for the teacher-led club will be announced shortly.

Some of the initial topics include: Self-Esteem, Empathy, Bravery, and Anxiety. Each meeting will include a different strong woman leader from the community that will share in the activities. Each student will also be paired with a middle school or high school mentor who will provide a positive letter once a month. The club will culminate with the girls designing and implementing a school service project as a group.

Each girl will receive an invitation to come to the first meeting in late August / early September to learn more about the club. As parents, please feel free to talk with your daughters if you think this would be a positive experience for them and encourage them to participate in the club. They will need to sign their name on a sign up as an RSVP.
