It is a premier community event that brings together parents, teachers, alumni, community leaders and business partners. The Gorrie Gala is an evening event featuring both a live and silent auction to raise funds for John B. Gorrie Elementary School, a public school serving the affluent Harbor Island, Davis Island & Hyde Park neighborhoods. In 1929, Gorrie Elementary had already been educating South Tampa’s children for more than 40 years and would go on to become the oldest continuously operating school in the state of Florida. We are reaching out to you to ask if you could help with this event.
The students, parents, faculty and staff at John B. Gorrie Elementary School would like to request your support for this historic school. Our mission is to secure funding to expand and enhance the educational experience of every student attending Gorrie Elementary. Proceeds from the Gorrie Gala will directly support academic enrichment, technological enhancements, after-school programs and musical education for our students.
One of the key factors to a successful fundraiser is an attractive auction. We are asking local companies to partner with us and donate items like services, goods, tickets, gift certificates and more to be featured in our silent and live auctions (any items values at $2,000 or more will receive additional publicity). Would you be willing to donate a a weekend getaway or gift certificate for our auction? ANYTHING would be so greatly appreciated. Your generosity will help us continue to provide educational enhancements for all children attending John B. Gorrie Elementary.
